“Perhaps Arthur’s greatest legacy lives on through the work he did as kaumatua for Tuwharetoa, representing the iwi across many areas of justice, forestry, conservation and community developments, Waiariki MP Te Ururoa Flavell said.
Arthur also contributed extensively to community developments in Porirua and it’s great to know that his influence lives on in the buildings of the Toa Rangatira Marae in Elsdon, the Mana College Marae and even the Titahi Bay Golf Club.
“No reira e te rangatira, anei matau e tangi nei e mihi nei ki a korua. Haere atu ra, hoki atu ki a ratau ma e whanga mai ana ki a korua. Takoto mai, takoto mai, takoto mai.”
Our deepest aroha to his whanau, hapu and iwi.
