Edinburgh Arts Centre hosts Maori artist
1 min readA MAORI artist who specialises in carving and sculpture is holding an arts workshop at North Edinburgh Arts Centre tomorrow.
George Nuku is a Maori artist from New Zealand’s North Island.
Since July 2008, he has been coming to the National Museums Scotland Collection Centre at Granton, to restore part of a Maori war canoe a waka for the Royal Museum.
At the workshop you can find out more about the waka canoe, George’s artwork and his ‘moko’, his elaborate facial tattoo.
