Nga Pae o te Maramatanga is pleased to announce its scholarships for research methods and skills via the New Zealand Social Statistics Network (NZSSN) summer programme 2010.

Up to 15 Maori scholarships are being offered to tertiary students and emerging researchers to attend any of the short courses offered by NZSSN in their Summer Programme 2010 (refer to www.nzssn.org.nz for course details).

  • Introduction to NVivo Dr Leonie Daws 15 February to 19 February, 2010
  • Introduction to Program Evaluation Dr Delwyn Goodrick 15 February to 19 February, 2010

Scholarship Award

Scholarships will include paid enrolment fee/s for attendance to the NZSSN short course/s, February 2010, as well as 6 days standard accommodation and return national air fare will be provided by Ng? Pae o te M?ramatanga.

How to Apply

To apply for a scholarship Ng? Pae o te M?ramatanga would like to know:

  • Personal details, including contact information, iwi, current employer/tertiary provider, area of study and/or research discipline and contact details of your manager/supervisor (e.g. Head of Department),
  • Which course/s you wish to attend, and importantly,
  • Why you wish to attend these course/s i.e. how the short course is relevant to you and your studies or research and ensure that your Head of Department/supervisor or Manager has approved the application (confirming status). One page maximum per course please.

Once you have completed the application details please email your application to d.patrick@auckland.ac.nz

If awarded a scholarship you will then need to:

  1. Complete an online application for the awarded short course/s at www.nzssn.org.nz, click on Short Course
  2. Scholarship applications must be received no later than 8th January 2010.
  3. We will notify you of the outcome of your application by the 12th January 2010
