Feature Film Development Fund for Maori Writers, applications close 31 Jan 2010

If you are a Maori filmmaker, Te Paepae Ataata is currently inviting applications for its current funding round. This Development Fund is offered to writers to develop a feature film. Applications close 31 January 2010.
The level of funding will be determined by Te Paepae Ataata and may include funding towards the cost of a mentor or other third party additional costs in order to assist you in developing your project.
Please note that funding cannot be provided for costs already incurred by you (e.g in purchasing an option or fees already paid to a writer/consultant).

Background:
Te Paepae Ataata is an Incorporated Charitable Trust that has been operating since 2008.
The purposes of Te Paepae Ataata are to:
- To identify and support Maori filmmakers.
- To nurture Maori cinema.
- To develop select scripts to production readiness.
- To celebrate the film voice of tangata whenua.
Kia poipoia ko te ao kiriata Maaori. Kia penapenahia ko ngaa hootuhi kia puuaawai mai. Kia hari i roto i te reo kiriata o te tangata whenua.
Members include Ainsley Gardiner, Rawiri Paratene, Tainui Stephens, Merata Mita and Kathryn Akuhata-Brown.
