As a Kaitohutohu/Career Consultant, youll call on your experience of working in our Northern Area (Northland and/or Auckland) and take a leadership role in engaging with our Maori communities and young people, to help unleash their potential.

Every day will be different. Youll be developing and delivering career workshops, building capability in schools, presenting to groups both large and small, engaging with whanau and community groups, and sharing your in-depth knowledge of your community with the wider team.

If youre the right person for a Kaitohutohu/Career Consultant role, you love to work as part of a team, and value the importance of networking and building relationships. You know how to utilise your great communication skills to work effectively with a variety of groups and communities. You thrive on the challenge of getting involved in new initiatives, and seeing the positive outcomes of your hard work. Well also give you opportunities to use your creativity and cultural knowledge to develop new ways of reaching and working with Maori communities.

Fluency in te reo Maori is very important. Were also looking for experience in education, group facilitation, programme development, and ideally career planning and guidance. A relevant tertiary qualification is also required. If needed, well support you to study towards a suitable careers qualification.

Starting salary is likely to fall within the range of $45,000 to $55,000 per annum.
