  1. The korowai resembles dignity and respect and so much more and is a taonga to our maori people bless this korowai while its still out and seen and hope the owner will never let it goe once its been put back into its right place.

  2. Kia ora Myra – I've just called the station and no, the korowai has still not been claimed.

    Will keep updating.

    Potaua

  3. More to the point. How come police dont have details of the person who handed the lost garment in. Im sure they CCTV at the airports as well. Pretty slack investigation work to be honest.

  4. omg, thats kinda sad really, its not sumfing u would just forget about, more like it was stolen, and the thieves may have gotten an URGE to get rid of it quickly, hence it was found at an airport. I doubt the owners just FORGOT to grab it.

  5. Gud blimee!! I betcha feel so ashamed & dumb @ da mo aye…..How could u 4get a treasure like that, hmm i dont no??? Lift ya head up & walk in2 da cop shop & retrieve it bak.

  6. Some asian tourist probably brought it as a souvenir and couldn't take it home because of the feathers. A maori wouldn't leave it with MAF unclaimed like that. They should donate it to a local kapa haka group if no one claims it within a year.

  7. lol, who rats their cuzzy out on FB!!! hehe
how the heck can someone NOT have made enquiries bout it, same day let alone 5months later!
UNLESS its lined with some special preservative stuff /: and the owner doesnt wana get snapped!

  8. MAF PROBLE CONFISCATED IT FROM SOMEONE GOING OVERSEAS. HOPEFULLY IT GETS HOME. IF OZ CUSTOMS HAD GOT HOLD OF IT, IT WOULD BE IN PIECES. THEY HAVE LITTLE IF ANY RESPECT FOR ANY INDIGENOUS CULTURES

  9. Hey if no one claims it, i am happy to care for it here in Wellies..ive got the best spot for it for real…better then a shelf in the Police station anyway…aye!!!
