Family History Lunchtime Series: Niupepa Maori

1 min read

The Auckland Central City Library is presenting a free family history lunchtime series, designed to introduce the enormous range of researching tools and technologies available at Auckland City Libraries. The workshops are held every second Wednesday in the Whare Wananga on level 2 of the Central City Library, 44 – 46 Lorne Street, Auckland CBD until the end of October, and focus on family and local history topics.

The next in the series, to be presented Wednesday 14 April, is Niupepa Maori (Maori newspapers). Often under-utilised, the Maori language newspapers offer glimpses into a rich oral heritage and provide a fascinating record of Maori ancestors’ opinions. Maori reference librarian Anahera Sadler will show how this precious resource can be utilised.

Its a free event, but bookings are essential.

Please phone 09 307 7771.
