There are three very important things, as stated in the Bible Hope, Faith
And the greatest thing is Love.

In the spring of 1915 during the battle in the Ypres salient Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae of the Canadian army wrote the poem In Flanders field

In the last paragraph of this poem he says:

If ye break faith with us who die/We shall not sleep, though poppies grow in Flanders fields

Faith is what kept these brave men alive during time of despair, pain and suffering.

Faith was kept in there hearts and minds, it is also what kept our own Maori warriors fighting, brave men who at that time were only boys kept their faith alive, through struggles and war.

We must not break Faith with those men, who fought to give us freedom, freedom to live the lives we choose, freedom to be able to speak in the language of our ancestors, freedom to be Maori, to think Maori to hold on to those traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation.

We must keep our Faith alive, our Faith in our Reo, Our Faith in our Tikanga, and Our Faith in Te Iwi Maori.

Our Faith in Te Reo Maori will keep it alive, and will let it thrive in the years to come, for all generations to learn, know and understand, it is in this Faith also that our Tikanga will live.

As Maori if we keep faith in our Tikanga then we will be able to carry it in to a new dawn, a new age, a new era in time.

In a new time our Faith must be strong, to keep us safe, to keep us strong.

However with Faith comes hope, hope that the next generations will be able to continue building on those foundations started by our Tipuna, hope that our Reo will become such a Taonga that all peoples from the for winds will seek to it, hope that we in this life can make it easier for those who come after us.

When we let our Faith and Hope do this we must never forget to do it with Love, love for our fellow man, love for our neighbors, and love for one another.

God is love, God gives us life. We love because god first loves us.

In our Faith, Hope and love let us work towards building a better tomorrow, let us in our Faith offer thanks for all we have, In our hope offer all we have and in Love give to those who are not as fortunate as us.

Ma te marie a te atua e kore nei e taea te whakaro e tiaki o Koutou ngakau o Koutou hinengaro I roto I a Karaiti Ihu.

The peace of God which passes all understanding keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
