Taranaki Maori Business Brand launched

The Powderoom on Devon Street will tonight host the launch of the new brand for the Taranaki Maori Business Network, He Toronga Pahiki ki Taranaki.

The event sponsored by Office Furniture First will showcase the logo which was gifted by Te Reo o Taranaki Trust to the Business Network.

We are proud that we have been able to develop an identity for Maori businesses in Taranaki as a way of celebrating our success and endeavours, stated Anna Davis, Managing Director of Office Furniture First.

The logo and the name reflects the purpose of the group, which is to get together with like-minded people to assist each other and assist those who are new to business.

We acknowledge also the passing of Te Miringa Hohaia who was an ambassador for innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship. We will be mindful of his absence as we reaffirm the value of our business network for the Maori and wider business community.

The logo represents the following;

- Our Mounga Taranaki

– The large koru represents established businesses and the small koru represents new or considered businesses. It is smaller to represent the tuakana/teina (older/younger) relationship where those established business can support and provide assistance to new businesses.

- Each koru is shown in a different direction to represent the fact that both established and new businesses have differing needs

- The small koru is also in the front to represent that at times even new business can lead the way.
