Earthquake measuring 5.5 hits the East Coast

In a scary reminder to all whanau, TVNZ has just reported that a 5.5 quake has been recorded in the East Coast.
The quake hit at 12:42pm 30km southwest of Ruatoria, at a depth of 70km.
Dozens of people have reported feeling the quake on the GeoNet website.
Whakatane resident Aaron Anderson told ONE News the quake lasted about ten seconds.
Central Police communications Manager Kris McGehan said there had been no reports of damage.
