2 min read

A national hui for Whanau Ora provider collectives to showcase innovative practices and insights will be held in Auckland on Monday August 15 and Tuesday August 16 2011.

Currently, 25 provider collectives involving 158 health and social service providers are beginning to work collaboratively to deliver the Whanau Ora approach.

The inaugural forum Whanau Ora Hui: Sharing the Learning has been organised by a working party comprising key provider collectives and will feature guest speakers, seminars and panel discussions.

For more information about the event, go to www.whanauorahui.co.nz, or for more information about Whanau Ora, go to the website of Te Puni Kokiri: www.tpk.govt.nz.

This Hui is designed for provider collectives to be able to share information with each other and with Crown Agencies on working with Whanau. As outlined in your invitation from the Hon Tariana Turia, Minister for Whanau Ora this Hui is designed for Whanau success stories, governance and leadership, quality, workforce development, IT systems, current Government policy directions and of course netorking will all be focused on at this conference.

This Hui has been the culmination of collective members who have contributed greatly to the planning and organising of this first Hui. Given the very short timeframes with which to develop this Hui, we would like to thank the following collectives for their Awhi and Tautoko in making this Hui a reality:

  • Te Pu o te Wheke Collective
  • Te Hau Awhiowhio o Otangarei Collective
  • Kotahitanga Roopu
  • Waikato – Tainui, Te Ope Koiora Koiora Collective
  • Te Runanga O Nga Maata Waka (Te Waipounamu Whanau Ora Collective)
  • Pasefika Collectives Nationally
