12 month fixed Term, 30 hours per week, (based from home).

Te Waka Kai Ora, is the National Maori Organics Authority of Aotearoa, our visionis - KI TE MANAAKI I TE MAURI O NGA TAONGA KATOA. We are looking for a Kaihautu-a-mtou (National Co-ordinator) to join our team and support the organisation delivering on its strategic plan. Te Waka Kai Ora is looking for someone who is committed to tikanga is honest, reliable, diligent, highly motivated and hard working. A background in Hua Parakore, ahuwhenua or organics is desirable but not necessary. A commitment to Hua Parakore is essential. Our ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse Maori communities at both national and flaxroots levels, a track record in preparing funding applications and co-ordinating kaupapa Maori programs. Excellent writing and communication skills are also necessary.

The 3 core tasks of the Kaihautu-a-motu are:

  • To co-ordinate and support Te Waka Kai Ora regional and national kaupapa Maori activities and to deliver on current contracts.
  • To co-ordinate activities for the Hua Parakore program and provide support for Hua Parakore producers.
  • To secure funding and partnership opportunities that will support the future sustainability of the organisation.

The Kaihautu-a-motu is a team member of and carries out a range of independent and team based tasks that utilise, develop and build on their existing expertise. The Kaihautu-a-motu is a key contributor to supporting the growth of the organisation and the realisation of the TWKO strategic plan and a key collaborator across the TWKO whanau whanui.
