Te Ropu Pakihi (Kapiti and Horowhenua Maori Business Network) is proud to announce that nominations for the 2012 Kapiti Horowhenua Maori business awards are now open
These are the fourth biennial regional Maori business awards to be organised by Te Ropu Pakihi. The awards celebrate distinctive Maori enterprises through the expression of kaupapa (inherited values) in commercial activities. This year’s awards will offer three categories with the top (Rangatiratanga) award going to the entrant that weaves kaupapa across all activities.
Maori businesses from the rohe (Paekakariki to Shannon and across to Tokomaru) are eligible to enter the awards and the network encourages entrants to the awards programme that reflect the diversity of Maori enterprise. Previous year’s entrants have included iwi-owned service providers, wh?nau operated private businesses and sole traders.
Potential entrants in this years can attend two upcoming information evenings:
- ANZ Otaki premises, Main Street on Tuesday 31st January, 5.30pm to 6.30pm
- ANZ Levin premises, Oxford Street on Thursday 9th February, 5.30pm to 6.30pm
Interested people can meet previous winners of awards, sponsors and the 2012 judging panel that comprises of Professor Whatarangi Winiata of Te Wananga o Raukawa; Bernie Savage of Te Puni Kokiri; and Daphne Luke, of Te Arahanga o Nga Iwi
