  1. Hello to all!

My name is Andrew, and I work with the Friends of Maararoa, forest restoration.

I was greatly impressed with the work done by the group in Pa Harakeke, last year. Today I will visit the council workshop on reserves in the area. I want to point out to them that weeds in the rohe are threatening the resource, and now encroach the forest restoration project.

Council has not attended to problems in the Lakes Reserve this year, and will not, unless enough of us can draw their attention to the problems there.

Soon the Convolvulus will smoother the Harakeke again. The plants will suffer, and a suffering plant will be exposed to the virus that can cause the plants to die.

I will ask council to visit the area, but one voice will make little difference. Together we can make the difference.

    Andrew
