Manaakitia a tatou Tamaariki Children’s Commissioner, Young People’s Reference Group.

We invite you to distribute the following information and application form to taiohi aged between 12 and 16 years or students in year nine to eleven that you are connected to, to apply to join the Childrens Commissioners Young Peoples Reference Group.

Please distribute this widely among the young people and youth sector community that you are connected to. The Childrens Commissioner is looking to have a diverse range of taiohi who are committed to promoting both children and taiohi well-being and providing advice on tamariki/taiohi issues to the Childrens Commissioner.

We are aware that this request may take some of your precious time and the Commissioner would like to thank you and your wider networks in advance for this.

Attached is an information flyer, recruitment flyer and quick guide to the Young Peoples Reference Group that may be useful in providing further information to interested taiohi.

Please note that applications close5pm 14 October 2012.

A decision around successful applications will be made in November 2012. The new members will have their first meeting in early 2013.
