The Prime Minister has announced a target to reduce the incidence of Rheumatic Fever by two thirds in five years. At the Ministry of Health, were determined to do our part to achieve this target and prevent the inequities associated with this crippling condition. To help us do this the Office of the Director of Public Health is looking for three skilful individuals to form a new high-performing team to deliver change.

As the Senior Project Manager you will provide senior project and programme management expertise to support the set up and work of the Better Public Services Rheumatic Fever Reduction Programme. You will be responsible for organising the efficient delivery of a number of projects including the throat swabbing projects funded by the Ministry of Health. The role will require you to regularly report against milestones. To be considered for this position you will have proven experience in complex project management roles and the ability to work collaboratively in a pressured environment. This is a full-time position.

All three successful candidates will have an understanding of the issues and approaches of the stakeholder groups, including Maori and Pacific communities. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, critical thinking abilities and the ability to work effectively in a small team.

These roles are Wellington based and report to the Chief Advisor, Population Health who is the national programme lead for this work.
