New Zealand Thriller haka flash mob planned for Auckland (+video)

Screen Shot 2013-03-22 at 4.31.02 PM(Waatea News) The Michael Jackson meets kapa haka moves from the closing sequence of the movie Boy will be reproduced on Sunday at whats being called New Zealand Thriller haka flash mob.

Dolina Wehipeihana from Atamira Dance Company says its now part of the companys repertoire, and is being offered as part of the Auckland Arts Festival – Family Day at Aotea Square on Sunday.

Its a combination of Michael Jackson moves, kapa haka moves and a little bit of poi although you dont have to do the poi. Theres a great section in the middle where you can do your favourite break dancing moves or your favourite any kind of dance moves.

Just join in together, he says.Dolina Wehipeihana says Atamira dancers Jack Gray and Bianca Hislop will be teaching the dance moves at Aotea Square from noon on Sunday before the flashmob performance at 3pm.
