Crown Role: Director, Network for Learning

Hon Nikki Kaye in her capacity as Associate Minister of Education, is commencing a process to adda director role to the Board of Crown company, the Network for Learning Ltd.

N4L_RGBThe Network for Learning is to deliver an online network for school, which will run over the ultrafast broadband infrastructure being rolled out across NZ. The network will provide schools with affordable, safe, ultrafast internet access as well as a range of online content and centrally-procured services. Services are intended to be available progressively from 2013.

Candidates are sought with a mix of deep technical expertise in contract management and its application in the information and communications technology sector. In addition, strong knowledge of government processe coupled with proven leadership ability to assist the Chair would also be advantageous.

In general terms the Board requires members with strong experience in governance, management and government decision-making. In addition, established competencies in financial anlaysis, commercial expertise and the education sector are important. Finally a proven track record in Information and Communications Technology is advantageous.

Candidates for the Board should also have the necessary skills and experience to enable them to meet the requirements of a director in terms of the Companies Act and other relevant legislation.
