maarakai-mediaOne of the challenges facing all of us is whether reviving maara kai in our backyards, our community and our marae here in Te Arawa is important to us.And we especially want to invite the Chair of your Runanga, your Trustees, koeke, leadership and whanau to take part in this kaupapa.

For those of us who are already doing maara kai it will be an opportunity to share what is working and what the challenges are.

For whanau/hapu/iwi who are “thinking about developing maara kai”,”wanting to develop maara kai, but don’t know where to start” or, are simply wanting to come for a “jack nohi”, then please……., do come.

Our “Think Tank” is tasked with putting together a challenging programme, and some wonderful and exciting ideas. We promise it won’t be boring. Our “Think Tank” has, developed a clear set of goals and objectives;we have some very engaging speakers with brilliant ideas to share, a number of challenges that will have you sitting upright and on the edge of your chairs. This is a “must, attend hui” so we urge you to place it on your next agenda and discuss the merits of attending with whanau, Runanga and Trustees.

Saturday 14 June, 2014, 9.00am 4.30pm, Waiohewa marae, Rangiteaorere Road, Te Ngae Junction.
First turn left after the 3D Maze on State Highway 30.
