As with so many other emergencies and crises, Māori have again showed how responsive and agile they can be in service of their people.

Many iwi had little or no permanent logistics or food storage, yet were able to stand up distribution centres almost overnight, procure food and hygiene packs by leveraging relationships rather than process, and then get those supplies to where they were needed.
