Rotorua District Council (RDC) is inviting residents from Koutu and surrounding areas to a community hui tomorrow evening to discuss development of the suburb’s new youth space on Karenga Park.
The meeting is at Waikite Rugby Football Club on Bellvue Rd on Wednesday [6 June] at 5.30pm.
RDC youth projects officer Jill Campbell says the meeting is an opportunity for locals to keep updated on plans for Karenga Park and to find our more about the youth space plans.
“Last week we had a meeting with Koutu youth to get their input on what they wanted for their new youth space, and to ensure that council’s design proposals were on the right track.
“The meeting was well attended and the feedback we received was very useful, and it will be incorporated into further development planning.
“RDC works manager Peter Dine will be available at tomorrow’s meeting to answer any questions residents may have about the youth space programme, including an explanation of the filling and draining process at Karenga Park.”
The Koutu youth space is planned to be completed January 2013.
