Matariki Gig Fundraiser in Porirua

Kia ora! A Matariki Gig Fundraiser is being held this coming Friday 22nd June @The Ledge, 1 Serlby Place, Porirua.

We’re raising funds for our Wharekura kids from Te Kura Maori o Porirua to get to the Secondary Schools National Kapa Haka Competition in Whangarei next month.

It’ll be a great night out & there’s some awesome musos/bands performing in support of this kaupapa, ie: NO IDEA featuring Sista J – Jackie Hemmingsen, Rocky Broughton, and Phil Smith … plus Ngahiwi Apanui … FUJANSU … Mahia & Kemara Fuimaono … STEEZIN’ HAWKINGS … Conrad Noema … and Kua Ranea Aperahama.

Doors open at 7pm & live music kicks off at 8.30pm until 1.30am. Conway Matthews & Marc Wagner are our MCs and a light supper will also be provided ….

Tickets are available NOW at only $20 from The Ledge (Ph2382495) or TKMP (Ph2359617).

Door sales will be $25 on the night. All ticket holders go into the draw for vouchers from North City Flight Centre, Little India and Top Taste Restaurants. Tune-in to Te Upoko o Te Ika and Atiawa Toa FM who will be giving away tickets on-air this week.

Art Auction Tender

The Kura is also having an Art Auction with funds going towards meeting expenses for these rangatahi to attend the National Secondary School Kapa Haka Competition in Whangarei as the Regional Secondary School Kapa Haka competition winners.

The set up of this auction will start from 12 noon Thursday, June 14th 2012 – art pieces will be available to view from 1pm in the spine of Te Pataka.

The Auction will start at 6.30pm.

Bids can be either rung through to the kura 2359617 or emailed to tari@kura-porirua.school.nz no later than Thursday 14 June at 4pm. Bidders can contact Naere on 02102274055 to confirm if their bid has been successful.

All items will need to be paid in full before collecting them – they can be paid for by eftpos, cash, cheque or credit card..

Silent bids for students art work will be processed by 1pm Friday when successful bidders will be contacted.
