Health Providers join forces for Common Good

Two primary health entities have joined forces to offer primary healthcare and Whanau ora services to over 300,000 Maori, Pacific and other families with high healthcare and social needs.

The National Hauora Coalition (NHC) is a Maori-led, owned and governed group, with a primary health organisation (PHO) providing integrated healthcare and Wha?nau ora services to more than 200,000 people across New Zealand.

Peak Primary Ltd (PPL) is a network of general practices across Northland, Auckland, Gisborne and the Bay of Plenty.

NHC’s chief executive, Simon Royal, and PPL’s chief executive, Mark Wills, said in a joint statement today the initiative represented a huge step forward in the country’s ability to provide a comprehensive and integrated range of health and social services to New Zealand’s most needy citizens.

“This is only the beginning. NHC and PPL share a vision that demands we all work together to make New Zealand a better, healthier and more compassionate society where everybody can stand tall, regardless of their ethnicity or economic status,” the chief executives said.
