Massey University, School of Maori Studies in partnership with Te Rau Matatini is offering a 30 point, 700 level postgraduate Applied M?ori Mental Health paper (150.717).

The paper is an exploration of the application of M?ori models of health, whanau ora and recovery principles in Maori mental health practice. It examines mental health issues of M?ori ethics and legal requirements, best practice standards based on dual competency and recovery based outcomes. The key components of this paper will be critically analysed and evaluated, through personal reflection, peer review and cultural supervision.
The aim is to enable participants to extend their practice to an advanced practitioner level. They will do this by successfully demonstrating integration of clinical and cultural skills that are based on best practice standards, ensuring professionalism and accountability and develop capability to support improved health outcomes for Maori groups.
Te Rau Matatini is offering 20 bursaries of up to $1,500 for those who enrol and meet the following criteria:
This is an extramural paper over 2 semesters (February to November) with two compulsory 2 day block courses in Wellington.
