End of an era’ for Maori Battalion

  • Ratings12345

The Maori Party salutes the survivors of the 28 Maori Battalion as they assemble one last time to remember fallen comrades and reflect on their exploits.

“This is the end of an era because we will not see another national hui – so it is an appropriate time to acknowledge our wartime heroes, and to thank them for the way they upheld the mana of our ancestors, mai ra ano,” said Co-leader Dr Pita Sharples.

“The winding up of the Association will relieve the old soldiers and their whanau of a legal responsibility. But this is not the end of the Maori Battalion by any means.”

Dr. Sharples said “their whanau and the nation will treasure their legacy of service and sacrifice, and their mana will live on forever in the hearts and minds of people in Aotearoa and overseas.”

“Their exploits are recorded in song and haka, on films and tapes and in books, and on the website. They will continue to inspire future generations to give their utmost for their people and their nation.

“Ake, ake, kia kaha e!” We will not forget.”

One wonders why mainstream media has never filmed the veterans of these WW2 campaigns to have allowed them to personally told their individual stories, many of them I am informed we telling of constant failures of the Pakeha and British Commanders when in the field of battle which on many occasions resulted in unnecessary deaths. This country for far to long has been brainwashed into believing everything in the world is as Pakeha relates and records it when the truth is far from it. What went on when the Maori Battalions where sent into what many at the time termed one way suicidal missions, they were not expected by their commander to even succeed let alone survive the engagements. These storied have yet to see the light of day. For far to long Maori Battalion members have stood silently in the background while elaborate portrayals which when examined in detail one finds are mere fabrications concerning the shortcomings of Brit and Kiwi commanders on the field of battle. Time to tell these younger generations to truth as to their constant dithering and ineptitude which cost many men and woman their lives, we see today with their grandchildren now in power little has changed. GOD help us as Global Warming disaster increase. GOD help us indeed.

I am really enjoying the theme/design of your weblog. Do you ever run into any internet browser compatibility problems? A small number of my blog visitors have complained about my blog not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Chrome. Do you have any solutions to help fix this issue?
