Crown makes First Comprehensive Settlement Offer to Tuhoe

Update: Kia ora tatou te whanau.  We’ve just returned home from the hui held at Mataatua Marae ki Rotorua to hear what the Government has offered to Tuhoe.  About 20 whanau attended, with Koro Te Toka (Aubrey) Temara reporting back on what was delivered at the hui.

11 August 2009 – The Crown will be making their first offer to Te Kotahi a Tuhoe, the iwi mandated tribal entity that is negotiating on behalf of Tuhoe, tomorrow morning in the Matangireia Select Committee Room, Parliament Buildings, Wellington.

Representatives from Te Kotahi a Tuhoe and Tuhoe Establishment Trust will be in attendance and have planned to meet with the Iwi out in the various rohe immediately following this offer.

It would be great if some of you can rally some of your whanaunga and yourselves to turn up to these organised hui tonight and tomorrow and listen to what they have to say and then perhaps voice your concerns, if any!
