Foster Family needed, IHC, Rotorua

1 min read

This panui was sent out to our networks because someone may know of a couple or a family who might consider fostering this child. For over a year now the team have been supporting this boy and they are desperate to find a home where he can be nurtured and given a real chance at life.

IDEA Services is an IHC community service and supports the vision of an ordinary life for people with intellectually disabilities.

We are seeking a foster caregiver/family that is willing to share their home with a 13 year old boy with an intellectual disability who has challenging behavior and complex needs. This will be a full time permanent placement. He thrives when he is apart of a nurturing family unit and enjoys all aspects of ordinary life, especially outdoor activities. This would ideally suit a couple with older children or around the same age.

You will need to be able to provide a safe home environment, have a clean police record and be willing to undergo vetting requirements. Experience with supporting children with disabilities/complex needs is desirable. You will receive initial and ongoing intensive training/support from your Manager to assist you in your role.

If you feel you have the commitment to provide a home for this young man, we would love to hear from you. Please direct your enquiries to Stephen Dennett on 07 346 7402 or collect an application form from the office at 1340 Hinemoa Street, Rotorua.
