1 min read

Huhana Rokx, former CEO of Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Maori resigned from her post on 12 Februrary 2010. Ms Rokx worked for the Maori Language Commission for three years and leaves it with a solid strategy in place which she says will capture the minds and hearts of all people in Aotearoa.

Board chairman Erima Henare told the Dominion Post that Ms Rokx had informed the board that it was

timely for her to stand aside to make way for a fresh approach”.

The Commission will appoint a new Chief Executive and in the meantime Dr Wayne Ngata is acting in the role.

We at have appreciated the passion and voice that Ms Rokx has provided and cherish her achievements, we definitely look forward to what the next chapter of her life brings and know that all of Te Ao Maori will benefit from whatever endeavors Ms Rokx is apart of. Nga mihi e Rangatira!
