Mana Maoli Collective here in Aotearoa

1 min read

Te Po Whakangahau o nga kaiwaiata no Hawaii - Mana Maoli Collective is performing together on Saturday, March 20, from 7 12pm at the Tussocks Bar, Gate E, Tasman St, Massey University Campus. Tickets cost $5 students (with ID), $10 public admission.

Mana Maoli is a non profit, based in Hawai’i that strives for community-based education, pooling and sharing of resources, and sustainability. This is achieved through 3 programs – Halau Ku Mana public charter school, Kanehunamoku sailing canoe program, and Maoli Music.

Their vision is to facilitate individual and community healing and empowerment by fostering lifelong learners who think, feel, and act in ways that are pono (harmonious, righteous); for recognizing strengths and addressing challenges as they seek positive, systemic change in their local, regional, and global communities.

Whanau please make the effort to support this dynamic roopu. This group came over all the way from Hawai’i on a promise from one of NZ’s most well-known bands (which shall remain nameless! booo!) only to find them vanish from the radar – so please tautoko if you can!
