NDF 2010 Conference, Linking data, linking people, 18-19 Oct, Poneke (15 grants available)

National Digital Forum conference will be held in Wellington on Monday 18 Tuesday 19 October 2010 at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.

The National Digital Forum (NDF) is a coalition of museums, archives, art galleries, libraries and government departments with more than 150 member organisations committed to collectively building New Zealands culture and heritage online.

This years conference theme is Linking data, linking people. Throughout this conference we will be exploring the issues and opportunities surrounding:

  1. connecting our collections
  2. linking up with each other
  3. using data
  4. working with communities (e.g. iwi, family historians, etc)
  5. working with content creators and consumers

This will be an opportunity to learn from others, including leaders in the field and those starting out.

The conference will be based around a stimulating mix of international keynote speakers, lightning talks, expert led forums and demonstration sessions.

NDF 2010 Subsidy Grant

The committee for the NDF 2010 Conference is pleased to announce the NDF 2010 Subsidy Grant, offering assistance to people who would otherwise not be able to attend the conference.

This assistance comes in the form of a subsidised registration fee of $200. There are 15 subsidy grants available.

The subsidy grant is open to:

  • Applicants who are either employed by or are associated with a small community organisations/institutions who are a NDF member
  • Full time students
  • New Zealand residents or citizens only.
  • No assistance can be given to overseas residents.

How to Apply

To apply please complete the NDF 2010 Subsidy Grant Application Form. Please find someone to act as a referee for your registration. This person should be able to confirm that you or your community organisation requires financial assistance. Your referee might be someone you work with, but should not be a family member.

Applications close Friday 20 August 2010

Please return your completed application form to the conference organisers, Paardekooper & Associates, by Friday 20 August 2010. You will be notified no later than Wednesday 25 August, if you are successful. If successful you must pay the registration fee by Friday 10 September 2010 otherwise the grant will be withdrawn.
