Lottery Grants Board nominations open

Hon Nathan Guy, Minister of Internal Affairs, is seeking nominations for three positions on the NZ Lottery Grants Board.

The Minister is seeking nominations with financial literacy, strategic thinking ability and an awareness of and experience in the community and voluntary sector. The Minister will be seeking to maintain a geographical and gender balance on the Board.

The Board’s key function is to determine the proportions in which the profits of NZ lotteries are allocated to distribution committees and distribution agencies. The Board generally meets for two hours, three to four times are year.

Board members must, as a group, have:

  • awareness and understanding of the community and voluntary sector
  • knowledge or understanding of the arts or sports sectors
  • community corrections
  • an understanding of philanthropy
  • experience and knowledge of financial management
  • business acumen.
