Kahungunu – Kura Reo applications

Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Inc. (NKII) is pleased to offer sponsorship for students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend the Kura Reo which is scheduled from Sunday 9 – Thursday 13 January 2011 at Te Manga Maori, EIT Hawkes Bay, Taradale. Ngati Kahungunu hopes that this opportunity will better equip our people to use, teach and learn Te Reo Maori and improve the quality of Reo being spoken, taught and learnt within Ngati Kahungunu.

The following criteria apply:

  1. Applicant must be registered with NKII.
  2. Applicant must have a medium level of fluency in Te Reo M?ori.
  3. Applicant must be present for the p?whiri on Sunday 9 January and be present until the conclusion of the Kura Reo on Thursday 13 January.
  4. Applicant must prepare a report for Ng?ti Kahungunu Iwi Inc. detailing their experiences of the Kura Reo programme and how Ng?ti Kahungunu could possibly shape further iwi-run Kura Reo.

All applications must be received before 4pm, Friday 3 December 2010. Late applications will not be accepted. Sponsorship is limited to 40 applicants. If more than 40 applications are received, sponsorship will be awarded on a first-in-first served basis to elligible applicants. Applications must be addressed to:
