Maori Wanted – Nominations for the Food Standards Australia NZ Board

The Minister for Food Safety, Hon Kate Wilkinson, is calling for candidates for nominations to the FSANZ Board.

FSANZ is a joint TransTasman agency which is responsible for developing food safety and suitability standards for both countries. FSANZ is governed by a board of 12 members with expertise and experience relevant to food regulation.

The Food Treaty provides for the NZ minister for Food Safety to nominate appropriate candidates to three NZ positions on the FSANZ Board.

Any persons appointed to the position must have expertise in public health, consumer affairs, food science, food allergy, human nutrition, medical science, microbiology, food safety, biotechnology or veterinary science.
