Position at the Ministry of Education office: Hamilton

The Ministry is advertising this Senior Adviser’s position in Hamilton. The position is to be called Senior Adviser: Maori Education with the requirement that the successful applicant is fluent in te reo Maori. The position is being advertised in the Herald, the Waikato Times, Seek (website), in the Education Gazette and on the Ministry’s website.

We have been asked to promote this position amongst our networks – there may be whanau who are looking for a change in career direction, or whanau who want to continue to work in the education but in a different role.

The salary scale is between $63,000 and $74,000 and the information can be found on the Ministry’s website.

The Ministry would like to get the message out there that this position is available – it will be a crucial appointment to support the Ministry achieve the outcomes clearly outlined in the Government’s Maori Education Strategy – Ka Hikitia – that is where Maori enjoy educational success as Maori.

The applications close on 14 January 2011.
