Maori invited to attend hui for Proposed National Policy Statement on Indigenous Biodiversity

1 min read

Due to the low numbers in attendance by iwi/hapu at the recent consultation hui in Rotorua Monday 7 March on the Proposed National Policy Statement on Indigenous Biodiversity, the Ministry for the Environment (MfE) have considered and agreed to hold a special hui for Iwi/hapu regarding the Proposed National Policy Statement.

The aim of the hui is to ensure iwi/hapu contribute and provide comments/feedback to the Proposed NPS.

The Te Arawa Lakes Trust will assist and coordinate the responses, therefore this panui is being sent to allow you to confirm your attendance at the hui.

The proposed date to hold the hui is Thursday 31st March 2011 at at Te Arawa Lakes Trust Offices, 1194 Haupapa Street, Rotorua.

Please note that there will be no Board of Inquiry or hearing for this process and submissions can be made in writing and submitted either by post or email to MfE. This will be covered in the presentation by MfE. The deadline for Submissions for the proposal close on 2 May 2011.

It would be appreciated if you could forward this panui to your networks to ensure sufficient numbers are in attendance and the hui goes ahead.
