Maori owners threatened with court

1 min read

(Waatea News) Ngati Koroki Kahukura Settlement Trust says it will take action against Maori owners who are threatening to block access to an ecological reserve.

Spokesperson Willie Te Aho says Maungataurari 4G4 is siding with four Pakeha landowners who claim Maori have too much say in the Maungataurari reserve near Cambridge.

He says while there are legitimate grievances about compensation for land within the 47km pest proof fence, the trust is committed to keeping the pests off the mountain while letting the public in.

The issue could end up in the Maori Land Court.

  1. My first reaction to this taki was, Ngati Koroki Kahukura settlement trust, "Leave your whanau alone"! I dont lhave any knowledge into the back ground of this dispute but land is land and the pakeha are still pursuing it and "once again using whanau against whanau.
The less you know the better. So an honest oponion can be the best solution. 'K I S S", keep it simple Stupid!
