Tuhoe organisationsunder the guidence of the Tuhoe Establishment Trust continue to help whanau in Otautahi recover for the recent earthquake and have sent down additional ground support to help existing crews working in the suburbs.

The groups that have been working in the outlying areas have been providing the kinds of services which are needed most, these can range frombasic adminstration to complementing efforts in processing clothing grants(MSD), emergency grants (red cross), relocation (TET).

The Maori Womans Welfare League and Hauora staff have assisted by packing kai collected by the Ruatoki Kura and bundling them into whanau size bags which are loaded on the Tikirau & Tames van for immediate distribution.

Tuhoe Hauora & Te Kaokao are working together with small teams to be deployed while decision making isdriven by those on the ground in CHCH. TET will be approaching these organisations to discuss secondment of staff to assist with relocation, information provision etc.

Meanwhile the Maori Womans Welfare Leaguehave offeredtheir office as collection point for the development of survival / food kits for whanau. That list will be distributed this week.

In order to ensure those working to assist whanau are themselves looked after these teams are being replaced weekly.
