Workshop outline

The Power of Peer Mentoring

Peer mentoring differs from other forms of mentoring in that it doesn’t rely on the presence of a more qualified, identified expert in the process – a mentor. By using a range of simple yet powerful mentoring tools with colleagues, individuals can tap in to the hidden resources in themselves and others to gain insights and awareness that enhance reflective practice. In one training day participants are introduced to this group based approach to mentoring and are able to set up and run peer mentoring groups that last the distance with others who are working in similar roles within the organisation.

The training will

  • Introduce participants to the concept of peer mentoring and the peer mentoring toolkit – 7 tools for mentoring groups and individuals
  • Show how to set up and run peer mentoring groups that last the distance
  • Provide opportunities to experience the power of peer mentoring through small group practice and coaching.
