Tiramarama Matariki Festival event, 24 June @ Tamaki

Tiramarama refers to the glistening of the stars- an appropriate title for this star-studded Matariki Festival event.

This special evening of entertainment showcases collaborations of contemporary Maori artists with other distinctive musical genres including the jazz sound of the Nathan Haines band, Australian Idol winner Stan Walker, legendary polyfonk band Ardijah, soulful singer/songwriter Tama Waipara, diva Maisey Rika and Pacific duo Adeaze.

Artists will perform acoustic songs as well as songs accompanied by the Auckland Chamber Orchestra conducted by Peter Scholes, including a special ‘Matariki’ composition by Te Ahukaram? Charles Royal combining the ‘voices’ of taonga puoro (traditional Maori instruments).

Discounted tickets available for Students (up to tertiary level with valid ID), Seniors (65+) and Children16 years and under.
