1150954_179720255542516_574346858_nI would like your help to become a Rotorua District Councillor.

I was born and grew up in Rotorua, and gained a NZ Diploma in Business and Diploma in Marketing from Waiariki Institute of Technology you may recognise me from their promotional activities.

My experience includes being your 2010 Youth M.P. representing Hon. Todd McClay, two years as a Rotorua District Youth Councillor, Rotorua Environmental Youth Forum, member of various advisory groups and funding panels for the Ministry of Social Development and Ministry of Youth Development.

Throughout my experiences, I have demonstrated a genuine interest and strong ability to bring the views of our community into decision-making processes. Therefore, I believe I am better able to address the concerns of our community. I am hard working, and results focused.

If you want new leadership and a fresh perspective in your Council, please vote for me – Tania Tapsell of Rotorua.

You can find more information on my official election page:

  1. As a young person of Maori heritage you with be familiar with the following expression

He aha te mea nui o te ao?
He tangata! He tangata! He tangata!

What is the most important thing in the world?
It is people! It is people! It is people!

Maybe you should stop following the National Party who have done zero for ordinary people and start looking out for those in our region who have not had the opportunities you have had.

  2. Kia ora Tania. Thank you for standing for Rotorua District Council in this year’s local body elections. The opportunity to challenge each other to create the greatest plan for the improvement in quality of life for the people of Rotorua District is now – these weeks prior to the elections. Twenty new candidates, twenty unique perspectives on the action required to effect positive change.
I challenge you to challenge me as we consult with our community,to bring together the very best information, ideas and plans to improve Rotorua’s current and future quality of life.
The way forward is ‘tatou tatou’ – ‘we together’ ‘working together’.
To pool our very best ideas when voting is over, and present the new Rotorua District Council with a clear and comprehensive mandate by the people and for the people, those of us with genuine concern for the people of Rotorua District will finish satisfied, irrespective of the number of votes we receive.
I wish you every opportunity and success, and look forward to working with you post-elections to deliver our combined mandate.
And on a personal note, your aunt Diane Moore (nee Tapsell) is a dear friend. It’s been many years since I’ve seen her, and I would love to hear from her.
Kind regards, Helen Hindmarsh, Mayoral candidate for Rotorua District, 2013
