The primary role of the Communications Account Manager is to be highly customer focused and advise, plan, produce, and deliver timely and professional communications services and products to various client groups across the organisation.

As a successful applicant you will ideally have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, or at least 5 years experience, in communications and/or marketing and /or journalism.
  • A demonstrated ability to identify communication opportunities, and a sound knowledge of and experience in using a wide range of communication tools.
  • Well developed relationship management skills to work with a broad range of people including senior management, staff, external media and external contractors.
  • Excellent general written communication skills including speech, official documents and article writing as well as editorial and design skills.
  • An understanding of legislative requirements and bodies applicable to communications, in particular the Information Act, Privacy Act, Human Rights Act and the role of the Ombudsman.
  • A working knowledge of te reo Maori and an understanding of tikanga Maori.
